Can I Change an Artist’s Name on Stores After Delivery?

Yes, you can change an artist's name on stores after delivery, but the process varies depending on the situation:

  1. Fixing a Typo or Mistake:
    If you need to correct a typo or mistake on a recently delivered release, you can easily do so:

    • Edit the Artist's Name: Navigate to the artist section of your system and update the name.
    • Set the Release to “Edit”: Change the status of your release back to “Edit.”
    • Update the Linked Artist: Make the necessary adjustments and then “Save & Make Final” to update the stores.
  2. Changing an Artist's Name on Released Content:
    If an artist wants to change their name for content that has already been released, this is generally not recommended:

    • Maintain Original Attribution: The songs were released under the artist’s original name and should remain attributed as such.
    • Use New Alias for Future Releases: We advise that the artist only use their new alias for any new releases going forward.
